Helping you navigate bereavement and loss in all its forms

Welcome, and thank you for visiting Julia Dodd Counselling. I am a counsellor specialising in bereavement and loss. I work from three central London locations - Soho, London Bridge and Greenwich, as well as offering online sessions.
I am a trained counsellor who, alongside my private practice, works with Cruse, a bereavement charity. I have a strong interest in how loss of all kinds can affect us in unexpected ways. It can change how we see ourselves, our future and our relationships.
My work in television enabled me to meet people from all walks of life, who were dealing with every kind of situation. It made me an active listener and become someone who can identify the core issues that are often lying beneath the surface of what is being said. I pride myself on my communication skills and ability to navigate complex personal situations.
I am a Registered Member of the BACP and work within its Ethical Framework.
As a qualified therapist, I have extensive experience in helping people navigate bereavement and loss in all its forms — from the death of a loved one, pregnancy and infant loss, to the profound sense of grief that can come with the end of a marriage, the loss of a job or career, or other major life transitions.
I also understand the grief that can come from losing a much-loved pet. I can provide a space to explore this with you.
I work with clients who are experiencing anxiety and a sense of overwhelm. Grief can be very lonely, and I will provide a safe space for you to explore whatever feelings come up.
I am a warm, caring, integrative therapist and offer non-judgemental, empathetic help. I work in strict confidentiality and offer both short and long term counselling.
I offer in-person counselling sessions from therapy rooms in three locations in central London - Soho, London Bridge and Greenwich. Online therapy sessions are also available via Teams.
I offer a free initial 20 minute telephone or Zoom consultation or, if you'd prefer you can come straight to your first session.
I charge £65 per session, in person or online.
Sessions are 50 minutes.
Please get in touch if you'd like to enquire about beginning counselling.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have before arranging an initial appointment.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
